More about Mitch and the whole story behind ClearPoint Home Inspections
My entire professional life has revolved around education and helping people. I have an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology which I applied to running corporate fitness/wellness centers for large corporations such as Lockheed and Levi’s Strauss. The focus was to help people improve their quality of life. Having grown up around the trades, and working in construction through college, I was always the “go to guy” for friends and family when it came to home maintenance and construction. So in 1997 I merged my passion for helping people, my love for education and my knowledge of construction and opened my first home inspection business in Southern California. The business was very successful and grew to be one of the top 10% producers for a sole proprietor home inspection business in the country. In 2003 with the eminent crash of the real estate market I was blessed to have the opportunity to both sell my business and start teaching home inspection full time for Inspection Training Associates (ITA), which was at that time the largest home inspection school in the country with hands-on brick and mortar schools in California, Florida, Illinois, Virginia and Connecticut. In that capacity I worked with many of the industry leaders and current and past presidents of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) and the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA). ITA was purchased by Kaplan Professional Schools in 2005 and that started me on a journey that ultimately turned into Campus President positions for both Kaplan College and Virginia College in various states. In 2017 I decided to exit the career college field on go back to my first love, home inspection. My wife and I relocated from South Carolina to Washington State in early 2018 and I’m now launching my second home inspection company.
